One year for Christmas, I bought my grandmother a little tree and made it into a display of memories. I invited family members to write a memory (or two!) on small paper ornaments. We covered it in ribbons and paper ornaments with handwritten memories. She loved it so much and read every single one. This holiday affirmation or memory tree is a similar sentiment.
It’s been a hard year. Lost jobs, lost loved ones, kids schooling from home, people who are at home alone. People struggling. If you know someone who would appreciate a tree like this, feel free to gift something similar and use the ornament cards I’ve created. They are my gift to you.
Maybe for a BFF who needs reminding how amazing she is?
A grandparent who needs to feel connected with loved ones?
A teacher you need to remind how amazing they are?
A child who needs a tree that reminds them how special they are?
Maybe YOU need it? If so, call it an act of self-love and go right ahead and decorate your own little tree of affirmations. Turn on some music, make yourself a cup of tea or hot cocoa, read every affirmation to yourself (like you mean it!), and then sit it on your desk, or on the table beside your favorite cozy chair. Consider yourself reminded that you are loved.
This tree is for anyone who needs a little Christmas. You could write any sentiment you want on the blanks cards– just consider who the gift is for and write from your heart.

How to Make a Holiday Affirmation or Memory Tree
It’s a simple and inexpensive gift– I purchased this small tree from a craft store– it was on sale and I spent under $8 for the tree. It came in a rustic galvanized container and trimmed with pinecones. Here’s a similar one.
I also purchased a spool of red gingham ribbon for $1. I created two sheets of printables– one sheet of affirmations (printable pdf) and another with blank cards (printable pdf) for handwritten memories.
All you need is card stock, a small hole punch, and scissors. Cut out the circles you choose, or make your own using the blank sheet.
Punch a small hole in each ornament and loop the ribbon through the hole. I just tied a small knot, but you could do bows if that’s your preference. These are pretty small, so the knot was enough for me.
You could also add a strand of mini lights with a battery box, but think through where you’ll put the battery box. A tree with an open bucket would work great!
That’s it, y’all. This is so easy, and could really make someone feel special and loved. It would be a sweet surprise to leave with a tray of holiday goodies on someone’s porch.
